to our sponsors

We are an organisation that depends on a community with huge amounts of enthusiasm, goodwill and an army of volunteers, but key to our success is building strong collaborative partnerships with Brixton’s major stakeholders. We would like to say a HUGE thank you to all our partners, supporters and volunteers for helping make this festival happen.

In their own words

I’ve been living in Brixton for 30 years and love the creative and entrepreneurial spirit within the community. That’s why I’m happy now to be in a position to support BDT.

I am delighted to see so many businesses coming forward to support Brixton Design Trail this year. This is our great opportunity to showcase Brixton, London's most distinctive neighbourhood - so much to see and do, great food and culture, vibrant day and night.

Michael SmithBrixton BID Director

We’re proud to support this year’s Brixton Design Trail event in this, its fourth year. The event has gone from strength to strength since it started in 2014 and we’re looking forward to being a part of it.

Tangle Teezer

Creating a whole new category in haircare – detangling, former hair colourist Shaun P launched his innovative brand called Tangle Teezer in 2007. Having been rejected by Dragons’ Den as a ‘hairbrained idea’ the brand has since become an award-winning global phenomenon having sold 40 million hairbrushes worldwide.

A buzz brand that knows no boundaries, innovation is at the forefront of this Brixton based, British designed and manufactured brand. Sold in nearly 100 countries, it’s a brand that has achieved cult status from developing hairbrushes and tools that create new ways to solve problems with disruptive technology.

Shaun was thrilled to be approached by the BDT as his love of Brixton began 30 years ago when he moved into the area. He originally built his business from his two-bedroomed flat in Brixton before moving into premises in Stockwell Road. Drawn to the creative and entrepreneurial spirit of Brixton, to be able to put back into the community as well as establish Tangle Teezer as a Brixton based brand is hugely rewarding for Shaun.

Brixton BID

Brixton BID is committed to continuing its investment in Brixton’s rich creative community and celebrating our famous cultural diversity. It is delightful to see businesses in Brixton coming together to support Brixton Design Trail.

Our work with Brixton Design Trail over the years has helped to establish Brixton as an even more distinctive destination for all. Brixton is like nowhere else.

Since 2014, the BID has been providing valuable service and projects to help make running a business in Brixton easier. Before the BID, local businesses had no collective voice in Brixton and no way to come together to invest in their own community or future.

We all know Brixton is changing. With more new businesses choosing Brixton, our vision is to build on the area’s strengths and capitalise on its unique diversity, vibrancy and culture. We are here to help local businesses become more resilient to these challenges and to create more opportunities for us all to thrive.
