Sisterhood in collaboration with Kriti Monga, a designer & illustrator from India invite you to experiment with everyday materials to create a Typervention around Brixton.
What is a Typervention?
A Typervention is an experimental installation using everyday materials to spell meaningful messages in public spaces! We use everything from tape, toothpicks, flowers and food to create fun typographical words to surprise, delight and engage the community. See more here: typerventions.com
What will happen on the day?
There are two sessions running across the day, you can take part in either or both. In small groups, we will be creating Typerventions in and around Brixton – in the park, on the streets, on windows etc. (we will reveal the locations on the day!)
Each group will be given a word, one everyday material and a guideline of the installation they need to create. Once created we will photograph this and it can stay in the location (for as long as it lasts). We will be using materials that represent and can be found in and around Brixton.
Where: The Department Store
When: There will be two sessions, you can attend either or both
Session 1: 10:00 am – 1.00pm
Session 2: 2:30 pm – 5:30 pm
This event is hosted by Squire & Partners at The Department Store
